大明湖位于市中心偏东北处。现今面积86公顷，湖面46公顷。大明湖历史悠久，景色秀美，名胜古迹众多。其与众不同，就在于它的自然风景和人文内涵兼而有之，不仅风光秀丽，更有深厚悠久的文化积淀，尤其是它乃繁华都市之中的天然湖泊，实属难得。历下亭、铁公祠、北极阁、汇波楼等二十多处名胜景点，令人应接不暇。“济南八景”中的鹊华烟雨、汇波晚照、历下秋风、明湖秋月均可在湖上观赏。
Daming Lake is located at the North east part of the city. The park covers an area of 86 hectares, and that of the lake is about 46 hectares. The park is full of beautiful sceneries and places of historical interest. It is unique in that it contains both natural landscapes and scenery of humanities. Therefore, it is not only famous for its pretty sceneries, but also for its long history. Moreover, this unique park is located at the center of the city, which makes it much more precious.
